Freshening up the Front Porch with a New Rug and Pretty Flowers

Hey friends!

It has been a CrAZy week around these parts!  Today is this sweet girl’s birthday!!  She turns 11 years old today, and I can hardly believe it!  This is her second birthday with us in America, and this girl LOVES birthdays!!!

I’ll be waking her up with a candle in a doughnut this morning, just like last year…which she made sure to remind me of last night! haha!

Tonight, Sania is having a party with a few of her friends from school, Saturday night Jonathan is going to the prom, Sunday is Mother’s Day AND Eli’s 11th birthday, and we are having a fish fry that night with my side of the family for Sania and Eli’s birthdays!  #whew!   It’s going to be a busy, but fun weekend!

I wanted to share a few pics with you of our front porch.  I wanted to spruce it up a little before all of the festivities this weekend, so I went and got a new rug and some flowers for our window boxes.

I have been wanting to get green gingham rug from Target for a looooong time, and I finally got it this week.  It’s 20% off right now, and I love how fresh and “Spring-y” it is!  It really brightens up our front porch, for sure!

Bentley likes it too!  :)

I got the “come on in” rug from Marshall’s.

For my wreath’s, I layered a tulip wreath from Marshall’s on top of a magnolia wreath from Hobby Lobby.

The bench was a garage sale find from many years ago.  It was green when I got it.  I spray painted it an aqua color and put it in Sania’s room from a while, and then I spray painted it black last year for my front porch, and I love it.  I  have really enjoyed having a place to sit on our front porch!

I filled our flower boxes with simple white and blue/purple flowers and a couple of sweet potato vines.

I love the simplicity of these flowers.  :)

Our front porch gets a ton of sun, so I will have to make sure I keep them watered.

Now, I’m looking forward to welcoming my family through these doors this weekend to celebrate two birthdays and Mother’s Day!

I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed weekend!
