Before and After: 10 Stunning Kitchen Transformations
Cy, Sania, and I were in Nashville with Jonathan this past weekend, and I am trying to get my bearings now that I’m back home.
I can’t believe I am saying this, but we have NO CHILDREN in the house right now?!! WHAT?! I seriously don’t know if that has ever happened before!
- Luke is on a youth group trip in Florida.
- Jonathan is in Nash.
- Adam and Eli are at Pop and Grammaw’s in Georgia.
- And Sania Louise is at my dad and Janet’s house!
The house felt so quiet this morning! But I am thankful for this little snippet of time to get some work done on my computer. Plus, Cy and I are going to go out for a “date night” tonight! yay!
So, I have been looking through Pinterest a lot lately for new design ideas for our next home. I thought I would share with you some of my favorite room makeovers over the next few weeks!
This week, we are going to start in the kitchen…
Removing the drop ceiling and the upper cabinets, really opened this space up! I love how bright and airy it is!
You can check out more before and after pictures at 1111 Light Lane.
This kitchen is barely recognizable! Of course, you can tell that windows were moved to different walls, and quite a few layout changes were made, but I am super crushing on that color of blue!
3. Studio McGee
Y’all know that my favorite designer is Shea McGee! I love EVERYTHING she does, and I will be getting a lot of inspiration from her in our new home.
This kitchen makeover below is stunning. The layout wasn’t changed much, but look how much painting the cabinets transformed this space! I also LOVE those pendants!
This next remodel shows you the power of tearing a wall down! ha! Tearing the wall down opened up the kitchen and created space for a beautiful island. So Pretty!
I found this pin on Pinterest of a kitchen that was featured in Better Homes and Gardens. I wanted to share it because in this remodel, they went from white cabinets to colored ones! Usually, you see everyone choosing white cabinets, so I thought this was a nice change.
6. Dear Lillie
My friend, Jen, from Dear Lillie did a fabulous makeover on their kitchen! It is one of my fav! Jen is another blogger/designer who turned everything into gold when she touches it! You could spend hours on her blog because it is FULL of inspiration!!

Emily shares her brother’s kitchen remodel, and I love it! The gray lower cabinets and open shelving are gorgeous!
Navy blue is one of my favorite color to decorate with, so I love the following kitchen makeover! Those navy cabinets make the butcher block counter tops and stainless appliances really stand out!
I love this remodel! Removing the soffit makes a hug difference and gives more room for taller cabinets. Also, removing the attached island cabinetry and creating a new island in the middle of the kitchen really opened it up. There is a slide show of more before and after pictures of this remodel if you want to check them out HERE.
10. Emily Henderson
Emily Henderson’s kitchen remodel is a stunner! She completely changed the look of the kitchen, and you really have to read her post to figure out how she did it! ha!
“Real” designers like her blow my mind! I don’t know how they do it!
Well, I think that is it! I have so much fun looking at how other’s transform their kitchens! Do you?
I think I will share some of my favorite before and after bathrooms next week!
I’m trying to gather as much inspiration for our next house as possible!
