We Bought a New House! (a little sneak peek)

Happy Saturday!  I hope you all had a FABULOUS Fourth of July holiday!

We went to a parade on Thursday morning and had a blast!  We saw this cute little dog, and I had to get a picture of him!

I mean, come on…..

Thursday night we watched the fireworks and then yesterday, we celebrated Jonathan’s 20th birthday!  How is he 20 years old?!

Better yet, how am I old enough to be the mom of a 20 year old?!!

(Don’t answer that! haha!)

Today, we are headed to some friends for another Independence Day celebration on the lake!  FUN!!

I’m working on my computer in the car while Cy drives, and I wanted to share the good news that WE MADE AN OFFER ON A NEW HOUSE!

We actually made an offer on it weeks ago, about the same time we accepted an offer on ours.  I feel bad because I haven’t been able to share a lot of details online.  There are just so many moving parts to this new phase of our lives, that it has been hard to share online before it all falls into place, ya know?

So here is the latest news that I can share:

  1.  We accepted an offer on our house.
  2.  We made an offer on another house.
  3. We close on our Kentucky home on July 15th!
  4. We close on our new home on July 19th!!
  5. I have not packed up one single thing.
  6. I am slowly sinking into insanity.  ha!

I am SUPER excited to share our new home with you, but for now, I can only share a sneak peek.

It is a big time fixer upper with lots of potential!  But I know that many of you are going to think we have lost our ever loving minds!  haha!  (which we totally may have!)

Behold my fabulous GREEN and white kitchen!!!….

Toile is making a coming back, right?….

Did I mention it was a fixer upper?…..hahahahaha!

I know you are so jealous right now!  {wink}

We will be renovating the entire house top to bottom, inside and out!  It should be fun!  After we close in a couple of weeks, I should be able to give you a video tour and much more information about our new home!

But I did at least want to tell you that we are getting closer to moving!

It is still very surreal to me, and honestly, I’m just pretending it’s not happening.  haha!

Next week, I am going to be in full-on packing mode, so your prayers are appreciated!  Thank you for being my online family and for always supporting us!!

xoxo

Traci

  1. Congratulations!! Wishing you all every blessing and happiness both as you leave your old home and begin again in your new one 🎉 Will definitely be praying for you as you pack lol

  2. Wow!!!! For someone like me, who has NO talent for decorating etc. I do think you’ve lost your mind. Ha Ha I LOVE your house you are in and it would be a dream house for me. I love the way you’ve done everything and your decorating skills are beyond good. I just can’t imagine you leaving it, but I know you guys felt led to and so understand. I had a heart thump when I saw the one you are buying. :) LOL I wouldn’t even know where to begin, but I know you guys do. What a blessing for both of you to have your skills and desires the same to do this new project together. Sounds like you are having a great Holiday weekend, but its work starting soon. :) Enjoy. Can’t believe Jonathan is 20 yrs. old. I started following you in 2015, after finding your sisters blog and its been so fun to follow both your families. Can you at least tell us if your new house is in Kentucky or Nashville?

    1. Thank you, Kathy! I know that our new home is quite a shocker! haha! But it is going to be fun to makeover. :). I’ll be sharing more about the location VERY soon!!

  3. I probably don’t have to tell you this but Pinterest has great ideas for packing. In fact one of my pages is Moving Madness. https://pin.it/w4kgzbuabnjytc
Just in case you need some inspiration. Very happy for you, can’t wait to see and hear all the news of your move and new home. Congratulations!🍾

  4. Can’t wait to see what you do with this one!! Prayers that all will go smooth with the packing/move!
    God Bless-

  5. WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, and Congratulations!!! This is so exciting and a while new set of fun projects await! I’m sure you will make this equally as beautiful as the home you sold. Happy Birthday to Jonathan too! I know, I ask myself the same question, “How could I have a 26 year old daughter, right? Time flys!

  6. I am so excited for y’all, Traci! I know that you will share more with us, your online family, when you can, so I’ll be patient. And I’m glad you shared something today since your sweet sister wrote in her post today, that her sister is moving and y’all had celebrated Jonathan’s birthday, for the last time, at your KY home. You and Cy have such great vision and see so much potential in what most of us would walk away from, so I know the transformation of your new home will be fabulous. Are there initially enough bedrooms for all of y’all? I guess with a little more time you will let us know if y’all are still going to work on the little flip house. I will definitely keep y’all in my prayers as you tackle the packing. Hopefully, you will be able to focus on one room at a time. God bless!

    1. Hi Ginger! Yes, we will be sharing much more soon! We’ve had to wait for a few things to line up before we share online. We are going to still finish the flip house, and I’ll be sharing more about that soon too! Thank you so much for your prayers and continued support! xoxo Traci

  7. You’ll have it looking great in no time. i can’t wait to see the results.
I’m just curious…why did you decide to sell? You place and property are so great.

    1. I wondered the same thing…why sell? And will Cy have a new job or is he going to be a young retiree! lol
Can’t wait to see what you both can do with the new house.

      1. Hi Nita! It was a tough decision to sell, but we definitely feel the Lord calling us to a new chapter in our lives! I will be sharing a lot more details soon, and it will make more sense. haha! Thanks for following along! xoxo Traci

    2. Thank you, Jan!! We will be sharing more details about our decision to move VERY soon! :) Can’t wait to tell y’all more! xoxo

  8. So the thing I am most dying to know, as I’m sure others are also, where is the new house? KY? TN? Can you share that yet?

  9. Well I like toile, but not necessarily in green, nor that much of it!!! It looks like there is going to be a TON of potential in this house and you and Cy do beautiful work. Prayers to all of you. Can’t wait to learn and see more. ~Kim in Texas.

  10. WOW!!!! okay, so I think I’m excited for you, but…I love your current home, but you know better than anyone when it’s time to move on. Prayers for all of you during this huge transition, and very excited to see it all!

  11. Congratulations! That house with all the bold decor decisions looks like someone has loved the heck out of it. I think it deserves all the respect!! Can’t wait to see your family make it yours and give it the update it deserves. 🙂

  12. Congratulations Traci and family,
I have experience packing and I think it’s kind of fun. Sure wish I was closer to come and help you with all the packing up. But I’m in Nebraska:) Can’t wait to see your new home.

  13. On my last move a brilliant idea was suggested to me, I wanted no part of it. On the very last week my daughter insisted……you have probably heard about the changes in life, well……my daughter directed the move. I was never so glad in all of my life. The movers did every thing. They marked all boxes. My daughter was at the new place, I was still at my home place. When the last box was loaded, I checked all the windows and doors, I left it for the last time. When I arrived at my new place every thing was in place and dinner was ready. LET SOMEONE ELSE DO THE WORK. Now I can say she had a brilliant idea.

    1. Oh my gosh! That sounds amazing! I wish we had people to do all the work for us. Unfortunately, it’s going to be mostly us. But we do have a few friends and family pitching it. :)

  14. you didn’t mention if your new home was in Kentucky or Tennessee – perhaps closer to Jonathan?
Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers as you transition – whatever it may be.
P.S. The green could be worse – the house we’re in had an orange kitchen – yes, ORANGE!
    Best to you all!
    Lisa

    1. Yes, I think I like green better than orange! haha! Thank you for your prayers! We will be sharing our new location very soon!! xoxo

  15. Good luck! We bought a new home 18 months ago and my husband wouldn’t let me pack a single item until our house had been appraised and inspected. That left me less than one week to pack 3,600 square feet of a home we’d lived in over twenty years! I about lost my ever loving mind! But I did lose weight. Haha

    1. hmmm..weigh loss does sound good! haha! I’m a nervous eater, so I’m afraid I’m gonna gain ten pounds with this move! #yikes!

  16. I’m so excited for y’all! I can’t wait to see all of the renovations! I’m praying for you as you pack and get ready to move!

  17. Congratulations! Very exciting. Thanks for letting us join in on your fixer upper. 🌿🌷🌿

  18. Sooo excited for all your plans seem to be coming in place. Prayers are with you as you and your family start your next chapter. I am so anxious to be watching for all the updates.
Can’t believe Jonathan is 20. Started following both your sister and you years ago. I admire you both and you both are so blessed to have each other. I have a half sister whom I never met and lives only a few miles from me (long story), so when I read about you and your sister being to close, I think how awesome it would be to have her in my life. I have put it in the Lords hands and if it is meant to be it will happen. Blessing to you Traci!!

    1. Donna, thank you so much for your encouragement and love! I am so excited to share this new chapter in our lives with you all! xoxo Traci

  19. I’m thrilled for y’all and can’t wait to watch it all unfold as you’re able to share.
And Happy Birthday to Jonathan! I know how you feel. My girl is 20, too.

  20. Congratulations to all of you! I know that you will make this into a beautiful new home, as you did your current one! It will be amazing and can’t wait to see the transformation! You and Cy have such a gift! And Happy Birthday to Jonathan! Such exciting and new adventures for all! Blessings!

  21. Congratulations on your next adventure! It will be alot of hard work, but it will come to fruition and be a home that is not only lovely, but will suit your new needs! I look forward to continuing to follow your blog! God Bless you and your family Love, Dottie of Upstate New York

  22. I’m so excited to watch this new adventure! I can’t wait to see you all makeover this home. You definitely have your work cut out for you! You & Cy have such great home reno skills, so I know it will be awesome! This project would make a great reality show. Best wishes!

    1. Thank you, Tonya! I am so excited to share this new adventure with y’all as well! We are going to try and document this through a digital series online, so I will be sure to share it with y’all! xoxo

  23. Congratulations. I too have been wondering what state you will be moving to. Also wondering, if you are renovating the entire house are you planning on living in it whilst doing most of the work & what is your plan with your other fixer up with so much work to still do there? All the best with the packing & moving, it definitely is one of the most stressful times in your life, but agree with one of your other readers get professionals to help if you can.

    1. Hi Rachelle! We will not be living in the house when we do some initial renovating. It will take a couple of weeks before we can fully move in. We are going to continue working on the fixer upper and hope to have it finished by December and rent it out as an Airbnb. I agree, this is so stressful! Trying to take it a day at a time. :).

  24. OMGOSH, we put an offer in on a house with the exact same green toile! We didn’t get it which is probably a blessing because we don’t have your DIY talent. I’m looking forward to your new adventure! Blessings!

  25. Oh my! Exciting news, but I’m afraid you’re moving to the Volunteer state amongst all that orange!
Wherever it is blessings on the new adventure!!!

  26. Green is back in again big time so there ya go! Take your time; enjoy the ride. Everything will be as it should be. And your house will be as beautiful as you are!
