Notes from Home – Ep. 16 {Front Porch Decking}

Hey sweet friends!

I am writing to you from the Blissdom Conference in Nashville.  My sister is here, and I am having fun seeing some of my long-time blog friends!

But I had to stop a minute and send you our latest episode of Notes from Home!

Last week, we left you hanging just like the sign on our door.  haha!

This week, we explain to you why we got a “stop work order” and thankfully, why we were able to get everything resolved and start working again.

We also reveal what type of decking we decided to use on our front porch, and Cy shows you how he installed it.

Next week, I will be sharing a step by step tutorial of how we install the brick pavers here on the blog, so stay tuned for that!

Now I need to stop typing and start listening  to the class I am sitting in.  haha!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  1. I know you already know this, but your husband is amazing! I can’t believe how easy he made laying that herringbone pattern look. Beautiful!
    I know zoning boards etc. have their place, but 2ft. Really?!?

  2. Cy you are awesome!! Tracy you are so lucky! Y’all do a great job of explaining and videotaping your projects.
    Thank you
    .

  4. I am so amazed how great your house is coming along. I love, love, love everything you have done. So jealous that my husband is not able to do these things. He might start things but doesn’t finish them. He is so good to me that I can’t complain! I can’t wait to see what is next!

  5. WOW!!! Another great episode. Cy your hired in my book! You do awesome work. It’s coming together y’all.
    Looking forward to next week!

  6. That looks fantastic! I love the pattern. Cy you rock! I do have one question. With the brick tile (I forgot what it’s called), so thin, compared to a solid brick, are there concerns about them cracking after weight is put on them such as outdoor furniture, plant pots/urns, etc? Just curious for future reference.

  7. So glad you guys went with the brick pavers! They look amazing and Cy did a fantastic job! You two work so well together on all of your projects. It has really been a joy to see all of this come together. Can’t wait for your next episode!
