Hello 2021!

Sweet friends!

I have been blogging since 2009.  11 years.

(2009)

Some of you have been with me since that first year when I lost my mom to cancer.

You have been with me through my son’s hearing loss, my dad re-marrying, the adoption of our daughter, Jonathan on The Voice, two home renovations, and a decade of watching my children grow.

You are family to me (us.)

(Christmas Eve at my sister’s house.)

I think many of us could say that 2020 has been our hardest year together as an online family.  Life has changed in ways we would have never expected for many of us.

Moving to a new state right before a national pandemic was definitely not what I expected for 2020.  Being quarantined and socially distanced definitely didn’t help us make new friends or plant our roots deep into our new community.  It’s been a lonely year at times and the fear of the unknown definitely reared it’s ugly head in our lives.

But through it all, one thing remained the same…JESUS.

When surrounded by so many”unknowns,” we found PEACE in knowing HIM.

This year has reminded me to not take our freedoms and simple blessings for granted. It’s reminded me that this is not my home.  My home is in heaven.  I’m just passing through.

This year has reminded me that my relationship with Jesus is the most important thing in my life.

It’s because of Jesus that I can face 2021 with a smile and a heart full of hope.

I look forward to this new year, and I am trusting him with each new day.

Friends, I know our relationship is a little one sided.  You can come to my blog or follow me on social media to get peeks into my life.  And I don’t always get to do that with you.  I wish I could sit down for coffee (or sweet tea) with each of you, and ask you how you’re doing, find out about your family, pray with you, and of course, give you a BIG HUG!

Because even though I haven’t met most of you in real life…you are a still HUGE part of my life!

Your love and support of me and my family is one of my most precious earthly blessings.

THANK YOU!!

I look forward to walking through 2021 with you!

  1. Dear Traci,
You and your family are definitely folks that I think about often, when that lexplosion in Nashville was reported on the news, I was praying that you folks were all ok!
My mother had passed away in June of 2008 and I found you right after you and Cy had made those Ballard Design “knock off” shelves, I made some for my kitchen and I also fell in love with you and your family.
Yes, life in Christ is one of difficult trials and and tribulation but also an abundance of mercies, each and every second of every day; we are so blessed to have a Saviour that is so madly in love with His people!
    Much love and many hugs,
    Denise

  11. What a sweet post. I love seeing your projects and hearing about your family.
I admire how you and so many bloggers share their love of Jesus. To be perfectly honest, when I discovered bloggers I had no idea I would find so many sweet Christian friends. I am quite isolated as a 74 year old with asthma and COPD. I count you as a friend that I visit with. You and many others have brought so much sunshine to my life.

  12. You are such a sweet blogger and example of a solid Christian woman. You are sincere in presenting life as it is, not perfect! Happy New Year to you and your dear family!

I teach SS and play the piano. Love my precious husband of 51 years. We have one son, a beautiful dil , and three grandchildren who I dote on occasionally, like everyday. Just thought I would let you get to know me a little more. Have a Jesus blessed day.

  14. You are one of my favorite bloggers because you are REAL! I found your blog in August of 2013 when I was going through a work transition in my life and needed someone hopeful and Christ based. You were a Godsend. You come over my Instagram and even my hubby will say , “What’s your Kentucky friend up to now?” Peace, love and joy to you and yours in 2021.

  15. Happy New Year to you and your family! Love your blog and watching your children grow up. So grateful for someone who is not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ ! Enjoy all the projects you and Cy share!

  16. I love your family. You’re so real. I enjoy your posts and especially sharing your love of Jesus. Wishing you and your family a wonderful new year.

  17. 2021 will unfold before us and I do wonder what it will bring. 2020 was something else. I have read your blog off and on since I started blogging and found you. I confess, I don’t stop by daily, but have kept up with your blog. I do remember when you were eye balling the torn up house that had no roof before you bought the house that you moved from to where you are now. Years ago. You are in a much better place. Not sure what 2021 will be like but I do know I will be trusting the Lord and leaning on Him.
    Blessings,
    d

  18. My gosh…. how the years have slipped by. Like floating down a stream, you don’t realize how far you’ve gone until you look back.
    How is Cy’s eye?
Happy new years to you, Cy, the boys, Sania, and your extended family on both sides. Thank you for continuing to bless us through your creativity and your Christian influence.
    (((((hugs)))))
