Makeover Monday ~ Fireplace Built Ins

Happy Monday, friends!

It’s a new year to start new things, so each Monday here on the blog, I will be sharing a makeover with you!

It may be a piece of furniture that I update, a room refresh in my home, a quick DIY decor tutorial, a spotlight of an amazing makeover I found online, or one of the makeovers from my husband’s remodeling business, Hutcherson Home Remodel.   Each week it will be something different, so I hope you enjoy it!

Today, I thought I would start off this new series with a makeover that Cy did for one of his clients. 

His clients had a living room space off their kitchen, (which I will be sharing with you in a future Makeover Monday post,) with a small fireplace on one wall.  Without making changes to the actual fireplace, except for maybe painting the surround, they wanted to give the room a new look by adding custom built in cabinets. 

So Cy built new cabinets with shelves on top and closed cabinets on the bottom, and I love the way it turned out!  Everything on the wall got a fresh coat of paint, except for the tile around the fireplace.  

You’ll also noticed that this space got new hardwood flooring (to match the kitchen area.)  Cy did not install the flooring, but he did install new recessed lights in front of the fireplace and a new ceiling fan. 

Our clients are thrilled with their new space, and I think it turned out great as well!  It’s amazing how finished the space looks now and how much extra organization space it provided as well.
