Adam and Lucy’s Rehearsal Dinner

I am still coming down off the whirlwind of Adam’s wedding! It was such an amazing day, and my heart is so very full!

Unfortunately, I don’t have a ton of pictures from the day because I didn’t have my phone with me. I’m going to write a post just about the wedding day, but today I wanted to share with you some snippets of the rehearsal dinner.

We had a very casual dinner at Martin’s BBQ in Spring Hill, Tn (about 20 minutes from Lucy’s house in Franklin where the wedding was taking place.). Martin’s has a private dining room there called the “Hickory Room” which is perfect for events like these. It holds up to 60-80 people, and since we only needed seating for 30, we had more than enough room!

I decided to get a large print of Adam and Lucy’s engagement photo and frame it to put on an easel for the rehearsal dinner. They are standing in front of Lucy’s dad vintage FJ, which was going to be the getaway car after the wedding reception. :)

I decided to use that photo as the inspiration for the colors I would decorate with! I wanted to use light blue, denim blue, browns, tans, and white. Then I would add in some pops of colors with the flowers of peach, pink, green, and blue.

Here are some of the things I got together as I was planning the decor for the rehearsal dinner…

It was all coming together, and I was so excited to decorate for the rehearsal dinner!

The only negative about the whole experience was I only had 30 minutes to decorate! 😳 There was an event before ours, so I couldn’t start decorating til 4:00 pm, and the rehearsal was at 5:00 pm about 20-30 minutes away. I did as much as I could in the 30 minutes, and then the amazing staff at Martin’s, Lauren and Zach, did the rest for me. They stuffed all the napkins and silverware in the bags, and they added balloons and flowers to the easel. I was so thankful for their help!

There are a few things I would have worked on a little more to make look better, like the balloons, but I was still pleased with how it all turned out.

Lucy loves gingham, so I found these tan gingham napkins and tablecloths at Target that worked perfectly! I used the table cloths for the head tables, and the napkins I used as placemats under the flowers on the other tables.

I got all of the flowers from Trader Joe’s and put the arrangements together myself in some mason jars.

Here’s my sister and her husband talking to Cy’s parents before we started eating…You can see how I used the napkins underneath the flowers to give the tables a little more color. It was simple, but pretty.

I also added little blue mercury glass votives on each side of the flowers, and it gave such a sweet glow to the table!

On each plate was a bag I got on Etsy to hold the silverware and a blue cloth-like napkin….

I set the photo of Lucy and Adam on the easel over by the dessert area. If I had more time, I would have added more balloons and more flowers. The staff tried to add some flowers in the balloons under the easel, but they kept falling down.😂. Oh well, I still think it looked pretty!

But my favorite part of the dinner rehearsal “decor” was the custom cookies my friend Michelle made!!

She is sooooo talented, and I love the way they turned out! I asked her if she thought she could make an FJ cookie, and she said, “sure!” 🤯. I mean, how did she do that?!!

They were just absolutely adorable and tasted delicious too! Michelle has an instagram account called, Sips to Sugars, if you want to follow her other there.

I wish I had more photos of all of us there, but I was so “in the moment,” that I forgot. haha! But I guess that is okay.

Cy gave a toast to Adam and Lucy after the dinner, and many others shared words of love too. We all got a little teary eyed because we love them so much!! Adam and Lucy are such a special couple, and we are so grateful the Lord lead them to each other.

I will be sharing pictures from the wedding soon, so stay tuned!

Here are some of the products I used for the rehearsal dinner….

Have a blessed day, friends!

xoxo, Traci
