Four Gables Update! {Back Porch & Windows}
I have an update on our Four Gables house build for you!

In my last update, I shared how the four gables and lower roofs had been built. We couldn’t believe how large the back roof looked, and we were excited to install the porch underneath.

Cy got busy building the back porch! He had to build the pier columns and make sure they were sturdy and level before building the deck. Once the exterior boards were installed, Cy and our friend, Aaron, were able to start laying the deck flooring.

We seriously could not believe how LARGE the back porch was! We started dreaming of all the fun we are going to have on the it! We can envision cool evenings in rocking chairs with some sweet tea in hand.👏🏻❤️
It’s even big enough to add some corn hole games or host an outdoor concert!😂

Cy said the back porch is his favorite feature of the whole house. ☺️
We ordered the windows for the house at the end of April, but they were not gonna be delivered until the middle of June. So the weeks leading up to the Adam’s wedding at the end of May, we didn’t really do much work on the house. Cy needed a break because he had been working non-stop, and we needed to get ready for the wedding.

I was so excited when the windows finally came in!! We went with Pella windows with one grille on the top half of the window.

The first windows we installed were the three in the living room👆🏻. Then we started installing the four windows on the front porch👇🏻. I say “we,” but I was the one handing Cy the level and tape measure!😉😂

Next up was the second floor front windows.

Cy amazes me with all that he knows how to do! I call him my “dream maker,” and I created this reel on instagram to tell the world…😂
Installing the windows has really made the house come to life!

The weather has been extremely hot the past couple weeks with a heat index over 100 degrees!🥵 However, Cy was able to get the windows on the left side of the house installed…including the kitchen casement windows.

The two larger windows on the first floor is where my kitchen table will be, and the three shorter windows is where my kitchen sink will be. This side of the house faces our garden and coop, so I will be able to see them out my kitchen window. 🥰🌱🐓

Here is what our home looks like as of a few days ago….

Cy still needs to install four windows on the right side of the house. He will probably get that done this weekend. He’s also hoping to install some of the siding this weekend too!
We are still looking for a front door and two back doors. We are trying to find a good deal on wood doors. If you know of any, please let me know!
My next Four Gables update should be about having siding on the house, {and hopefully a front door!}
Let me know what you think about the progress!

Absolutely beautiful.
Traci, your home is going to be so beautiful, and the property is fabulous. I’m so excited for your family. How exciting to be preparing for wedding number 2!! The first one was so perfect. Nothing over the top, just beautiful, and surrounded with love just the way it should be. 😍
hey girl- This progress is just so exciting! Looks so good! God has blessed you so much with having Cy as your husband. Like my Mom says “It is good to have a man around” and so that is what I say to my husband sometimes. Cy has done a wonderful job! Y’all have a blessed weekend!
What a blessing to have so many able to do most of the work. Can’t wait for the decorating.

Traci, it is just beautiful! What a blessing to be able to see your dream become a reality before your eyes! What I like the most about this house is that it is a true “family built” home, built by Cy, your sons, and a good friend. And, it’s built on the firm foundation of your faith. That is the best thing of all! Love and hugs!
Thank you, Karlee! Yes, building on a strong foundation!
Your house is coming along so quickly Traci!! I can’t wait to see it finished and you decorating it all. The Lord has truly Blessed you and Cy to make a great team together❤️🙏🏼. And I’ll be here to see it all…along with the next wedding!
Blessings,
Thank you, Holly!
Hi Traci, I can’t wait for the siding. I’m loving everything and looking forward to watching the inside come to life.
Thank you, Sue!
I love following you and seeing your dreams/visions. You are a wonderful family and such hard workers. Can’t wait to see your new house become the home you are putting your heart into. Thanks for sharing your life with us. Take care.
Thank you, Karen! That is so kind!
Hi Traci, I spent last week in Tennessee for a family reunion and it was so incredibly hot and steamy! I don’t know how your husband could work in that weather but he is amazing and doing such an incredible job building your new home! Can’t wait to see it complete; it will be gorgeous!
BTW, I’m not a particularly religious person but I am so inspired by you and your blog. Your faith is contagious and your home makeovers/improvements are beautiful!
Hi Kathy, yes, it is so hot here in TN. The humidity is thick. Thank you for your kind words! You are so sweet!
God has really blessed your family. Such exciting time of weddings and a new home build. Cy truely has done a remarkable job(your son’s too) and in such a timely manner. I figured you’d be building forever if done alone. You’ll for sure be in before the holidays it looks like. I can’t wait to see how you decorate it. So fun for you. I love seeing the chickens free range in the photos. Blessings.
My dad was a builder. I think it is one of the best ways to grow up because you really are in the environment of “we can do anything!” This brings me so much joy! I want to sit on that porch too!! I’ll bring the tea and cornhole!!
Question, quite some time back you had a post about some rechargeable light bulbs. Can you point me to that post? I want to show them to Hubs.
Congratulations on the progress and the weddings!!! <3
