Adam and Lucy’s Wedding!

What an amazing and blessed day Adam and Lucy’s wedding was!! I can’t believe it has already been 7 weeks since they were married!
I wanted to be sure to share some details about the day because it was definitely eventful. 😂
Adam and Lucy had a beautiful and intimate wedding in her own backyard. Lucy’s parents own a beautiful home in Franklin, Tn, and it has a carriage house/airbnb in the back of it. Her parents worked tirelessly to create the most beautiful space for a wedding!
Since the wedding was at her home, we all met there for breakfast on the day of the wedding. Both sides of the family had a wonderful time meeting each other and getting to know each other.

I love this photo of my boys! It was the last photo of them as single guys! When I see this photo, my heart wants to explode! When I was a young mom with four little boys by my side every where I went…people would often say, “Bless your heart!”😂. Usually in a tone that they felt sorry for me.
My mom would always say, “Traci, you are so blessed to have four sons! Someday when they are older, you will be so proud of the four men you have raised. I can just see it!”
Mom, you were right! Look at them! I am so very proud of the men that they are and that they ALL have hearts that love Jesus!

The best part of the morning was worshiping together. Jonathan sat by the fireplace and led us in some worship songs. It was such a beautiful way to start such a special day….giving praise and honor to Jesus….the Giver of all good things!

It blessed my heart so much to see Lucy and Adam worshipping together. They both love Jesus with all their hearts, and I know they are going to build their relationship on a firm foundation of faith.
Once we were finished worshiping, we got busy setting up the back yard for the wedding.

Lucy’s parents had everything so organized, and with lots of helpers, the backyard was transformed into a gorgeous setting for a wedding.

They set up all the tables for the reception on the edges of the yard. When the ceremony was over, they were going pull the tables out to the middle and put the wedding chairs around them.

We had music playing while we were all setting things up, and Adam and Lucy even serenaded us with one of their favorite songs, “Miami, My Amy” by Keith Whitley. They are just the cutest!😍

Lucy’s dad has a vintage Jeep FJ that was the “getaway car” after the ceremony. It was sitting under a large tree in the backyard and fit right in with the decor!

The wedding was starting at 5:00, and we were suppose to take family photos with Adam and Lucy around 2:30. The location for those photos was at a beautiful home about 10 minutes from Lucy’s house. When we got there the weather was fine, and we were able to get some photos.

However, around 3:00 pm, the skies began getting darker. A strong storm cell was making it’s way toward us and the skies began to open up and rain around 3:15.
Luckily, Lucy’s mom had ordered a bunch of white umbrellas in case of rain, and we all used them to make our way inside the house on the property. We had to wait about 30 minutes inside as it rained outside.
I got this cute photo of Lucy and Adam sitting in the dining room. Thankfully, they are both low maintenance, and the rain didn’t even phase them. ❤️

The photographer, Hkatephotos, took advantage of the beautiful lighting in one of the rooms, and got some more beautiful photos of Adam and Lucy! That’s called making lemonade out of lemons.

While we were holding out in the house waiting for the storm to go by….everyone back at the wedding was scattering around trying to take everything off the tables and into the house. The tablecloths and everything got soaked. They had golf ball size hail come through too, but thankfully it didn’t break anything. 🙏🏼
You can see Luke’s fiancé at the time, Mia Sarah, with her hand on her mouth in astonishment while she watched the hail falling on everything they had set up. You can see some of the hail on the concrete patio under the deck.

Check out the “before the rain” and “after the rain” photos below…

The photo on the right is grainy because I had to take a screenshot of a video my nephew sent me after the storm came through. He was back at the wedding trying to clean everything up, along with Lucy’s family and friends. They used several leaf blowers to dry the chairs and tables. You can see someone in the photo above blowing on the chairs.
They grabbed every towel available, and even their own clothes, to dry everything off and reset the tables after the storm had passed. I seriously don’t know how they did it!!
Sweet Mia Sarah was frantically trying to dry everything off…She was soaking wet!

Those loved ones who cleaned up after the storm were miracle workers, because when we finally made it back from our family photos around 4:15 (45 minutes before the wedding was starting,) they had set everything back up as if nothing had happened!
Everything was beautiful and perfect, and it was the most precious ceremony ever! Adam and Lucy are so in love and you can see it!

We great weather the rest of the evening! The food and the fellowship were both wonderful!

It was so much fun celebrating Adam and Lucy with all of our friends and family. My heart was full of gratitude to the Lord for all He has done for us!

All of the brothers gave short speeches about Adam, and they were so sweet. I love the love my boys have for each other. ❤️

Adam and I had our mother/son dance, and I’ll never forget it..

They drove off in the FJ with lots of cheers and clapping! Such a AMAZING DAY!!!

Their photographer, Kate, was amazing and she created this cute little cinematic video of the day on her instagram account.
I’ll be back soon to share Mia and Luke’s special wedding weekend too!
Whew! What a summer of love we have had! And I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
Have a blessed day, friends!

thank you for sharing this with us! It looks like a beautiful, God honoring day. Both my daughters married six months a part, one at 21 and one 23. Their wedding were also a dream come. true. All of these kiddos are so blessed to have found their mates at such a young age!
Yes, they are! I love that they got married young.
Everything about the wedding is absolutely beautiful! And they are the most beautiful couple 😍….love the blue shoes! And that bouquet 😱. I’ve always heard that rain on a wedding day is good luck so maybe hail is twice that! It’s so special that they had the wedding at her parent’s house especially in this day of over the top weddings!
Thank you, Susan! Yes, the simplicity of it all is what made it so beautiful! It was such a precious day. Her parents did an amazing job making it so special.
Beautiful couple, congratulations. And that’s how you do a wedding, simple and heartfelt. The flowers were stunning. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, Rita! It was definitely simple and heartfelt! It was perfect. :)
