How to Build a Garden Trellis with Cattle Fence Panels
Today I am going to share with you how we built our garden trellis with cattle fence panels.

When I share my green bean trellis on instagram, this is the number one question I get.
I have fallen in love with trellises because they not only serve as practical support for climbing plants, but they also add a charming vertical element to my garden.

Benefits of Using Cattle Fence Panels:
- Durability: They are made to withstand heavy use and weather conditions.
- Versatility: Suitable for a wide range of climbing plants and vegetables.
- Cost-Effective: Compared to custom-built trellises, cattle fence panels are often more budget-friendly.

Materials Needed:
- Cattle Fence Panels: I used two 16 ft x 50 in panels from Tractor Supply in between each of my 8ft garden beds. You will need to determine the size and number of cattle fence panels based on your garden’s needs.
- Metal Posts: I used six 5 ft studded t-posts from Tractor Supply.
- Post Pounder or Sledge Hammer: These are used to hammer the posts into the ground.
- Zip Ties: I used these to secure the cattle fence panels to the metal posts.
I made a reel on instagram to show the process of how we built our garden trellises. We built our first one last year, and I loved it so much, we built two more this year!
See! It’s not that hard to build one of these trellises with cattle panels! 👏🏻🎉. What do you think?
I’ll be sharing more about my garden in upcoming posts! I have really enjoyed working in it this year!
Do you have a garden or have you used trellises before? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!❤️
Have a blessed day!
xoxo, Traci

They’re gorgeous! What is the climbing plant that is covering it?
And congratulations on the weddings! 💕
Those are my white half runner green beans. A family fav!
I’m not a big gardener but after seeing yours it makes me want one too. It’s beautiful!!
Thank you, Lisa!
That is such a good idea. I don’t have a garden but I sure have been thinking about it for next year or at least a few raised beds. I love flowers so would like lots of those added. I just love how yours looks and the twinkle lights are great. Happy wedding and can’t wait to see photos. Have a great time on your honeymoon get away. I bet you both can’t wait to relax together.
Thank you, Kathy!
