Pond House Bathroom {Part One}

We are thrilled to finally be adding a bathroom to our Pond House!

Pond House Bathroom {Part One}

The Pond House has become on of our favorite spots on our property. We’ve been roasting lots of marshmallows down by the fire. The older kids love staying here too, except they have to walk up the hill to use our bathroom.

But not anymore!👏🏻

I actually had the opportunity to partner with Lowe’s to create the most adorable little bathroom in the pond house! Here is the original vision I had for the space…

Pond House Bathroom {Part One}

I wanted to create a cozy, vintage feel in the space. Let me show you what the blank space looked like when we started…

This is the wall you would see when you walked into the bathroom, and it is where the vanity and mirror will be.

To the left of that is where the toilet will go, right below the window…

And to the left of the toilet is where the walk-in shower will be!

On the other side of the room, directly across from the shower is where a small closet will go…

The first project we tackled in this space was the flooring. I knew I wanted a vintage, black and white flooring, and I narrowed my choices down to these two…

They are both beautiful choice, but I ultimately chose mosaic hexagon tile with the black flowers. It reminded me of the floor that Jonathan and I laid in our Wilmore House bathroom. Do you remember that space?

I loved that bathroom so much! You can read all the details about it HERE.

So I just knew that I wanted that same feel down in our Pond House bathroom!❤️

It can be a little tricky to lay this type of flooring because you have to make sure that the flowers line up perfectly. It takes a lot of patience, but it’s beautiful when it’s finished. Can you believe I laid all this flooring by myself?! Yep, I did! And oh my…my knees and back felt it for several days. 😂🤪

That is what it looked like before we grouted it.

In my next post, I will show you the tile we picked for our shower, and how I actually created my own “custom” tile for the shower floor!

Can’t wait to share it with you!

xoxo, Traci
