Pond House Bathroom {Part Two}
I’m back with Part Two of our Pond House Bathroom! If you missed Part One, you can find it HERE.
In the last post, the flooring had been laid, and it was time to move on to the shower!

I wanted the shower to have a vintage look as well, so I used white subway tiles with black pencil trim accents.
Here is some inspiration photos I loved…

I chose a larger subway tile because I like the look, and it also takes less time to install than smaller tiles. Cy created a level board on the bottom of the walls to start installing our tiles. He needed that so he could install the shower floor waterproof membrane later.

It took me a couple days to install the tile. I did all of the walls up to the black trim pieces, and then Cy finished installing the rest of the tile to the ceiling.
Here’s proof I tiled the shower…with a sharpie in my mouth to mark where to cut the tiles and all! It’s a glamorous life, y’all!

I’ve linked the products I used below. Just click on the photos …
I found this gold shower faucet from Lowe’s too, and it was exactly what I wanted! I love it so much!

When I went to lay the black and white hexagon floor tile in the shower, I didn’t like as much as I thought I would. I thought it looked to busy, and I wished it had less black tiles.
So I decided to remove by hand some of the black tiles. Here is a blurry screenshot of a video…

I absolutely LOVED how it looked with less black tiles, but now I had to fill in the empty spots.

Instead of replacing black tiles with matte white tiles, I decided to use some of the glossy white tiles we had left over from the tile we laid on the bathroom floor! It gave the shower floor a little subtle “bling.” Isn’t that fun?!

Now the shower is complete and works perfectly! We love it so much!
In the niche, I added these custom dispenser bottles from Etsy. I love the way they look. You can find them HERE. The have other colors and styles.
Here is a sneak peak of the next blog post…I’m gonna share the paint color, wall treatment, and vanity!

I’ll be sharing the final post in this series next week!
Let me know if you have any questions or comments about this project so far!
xoxo, Traci

The shower looks great and I love the added interest of the shiny white with the matte white. Good call! Did you already have a septic system in place or were you able to hook up to city sewage. Sorry, I know it’s not a great topic, but an important consideration. We’re considering turning a pool house into a guest house but adding a septic system requires so much involvement of city/county. The health department, permitting, etc. all have to be involved and it becomes a nightmare of bureaucracy.
Hi Janet. We installed a small septic tank for our pond house.
Wow, great idea to take out some of the black hexagon tiles and replace them with glossy ones left over from a previous project!! They look really nice and it’s great to be able to use something that was saved like that. Cool!
The shower is beautiful and so is the floor!!
You are very artistic and talented!!
Enjoy your time with your family and have fun at your nephew’s fiancé’s bridal shower!!
Thank you, Sandra!
