Painting the Walls and Ceilings at Four Gables
Y’all, one of the very first projects we’ve been tackling in our new home has been painting the walls and vaulted ceilings. As excited as I was to add fresh color to these blank spaces, I’ll be honest — the thought of painting those vaulted ceilings had me a little nervous.😬
That’s why I was so thankful to partner with Purdy Paint Tools to introduce you to their three brand-new products:

These tools turned what could have been a stressful paint project into a much easier experience. And today I want to share a little bit about my experience painting our home— and why these tools made all the difference.
The Challenge of Painting Tall Walls
Because of the four gable roofs on our new home, the upstairs rooms have high vaulted ceilings. Downstairs, our ceilings are 10 feet tall. Rolling those tall walls with a standard pole would have left us stretching, wobbling, and probably leaving patchy spots.

And cutting in around trim? Well, that usually means a thousand trips back and forth to the paint tray, plus paint splatters everywhere.
So when Purdy told me they had just released three new tools made specifically for jobs like this, I couldn’t wait to give them a try.
Purdy Altitude™ Roller Covers
Let’s start with the roller covers because wow… they impressed me right away. The new Purdy Altitude Roller Covers are made with a special microfiber/polyester blend that gives the smoothest finish. They come in three different sizes and two different nap lengths. I used the 18″ roller cover in a 3/8″ nap to give me twice the cover!

What I loved most was how much paint they held. Compared to other rollers I’ve used, the Altitude Roller gave us about 50% more coverage with every dip. That meant we were painting faster, moving along the wall with fewer reloads, and getting beautiful, even coverage.
And here’s something every DIYer can appreciate: almost no splatter and no lint. 🙌 You know that annoying little spray of dots that ends up on your shoes and the floor when you’re rolling too quickly? With these rollers, that problem basically disappeared.
Purdy POLE+™ Extension Pole
Next up — the Purdy POLE+ Extension Pole. This might have been my favorite tool of the day. Y’all, painting a vaulted ceiling usually means ladders and sore arms. But with this pole, I was able to stand firmly on the ground and reach all the way up without a single wobble.
Here’s what makes it different: the POLE+ has a pin-lock system every three inches. That gives you twice as many adjustment points as a standard pole, so it locks exactly where you want it. No slipping, no twisting loose in the middle of a roll.
I used the longer version that extends up to 16 feet, and it was perfect for our vaulted ceilings!

Purdy Pro-Extra® High Capacity Brushes
Now let’s talk about the detail work. I’ve always been the “cutter-inner” in our painting projects, and I actually enjoy it when I have the right brush. The new Purdy Pro-Extra High Capacity Brush quickly became my new favorite.
This brush is designed with 40% more paint-holding capacity, which meant I could load it up and paint longer stretches without going back to the tray. Y’all know how frustrating it is to dip, paint a foot, and dip again. With this brush, I could keep a steady rhythm going along the trim and corners.
The bristles are a mix of nylon, polyester, and Chinex®, which made the strokes super smooth and left no brush marks behind. Plus, the alderwood handle felt so comfortable in my hand, even after hours of painting.
Painting Together and Having Fun Doing It!
It took me a few hours to paint Eli’s room the color “White Duck” by Sherwin Williams. Cy worked on priming the drywall in the other rooms while I did that. ❤️

Instead of it feeling like a chore, we actually had fun with it. The tools really did take away the stress. No ladders tipping, no streaky walls, and no endless trips back to reload brushes. Just an enjoyable day of working on our new home.

Why These Tools Matter
I know from experience that the right tools can make or break a DIY project. You can have the best paint in the world, but if your roller sheds lint, your pole slips, or your brush doesn’t hold paint, the job is going to frustrate you. 🥴
What I loved about these new Purdy tools is that they solved real problems:
- Altitude Roller Covers = faster coverage, smoother finish, less mess.
- POLE+ Extension Pole = safe, steady reach for tall walls.
- Pro-Extra High Capacity Brush = fewer tray trips, smoother cut-in lines.

If you’ve been putting off a painting project because the walls feel too big or the ceilings too high, these tools will give you the confidence to tackle it head-on.
And that’s exactly why I love sharing these tools with y’all. If they can make our painting projects faster, easier, and more fun, I know they can help you too.
So whether you’re repainting a bedroom or tackling tall vaulted ceilings, don’t settle for tools that make it harder than it has to be. Reach for the new Purdy Altitude Roller Covers, the POLE+ Extension Pole, and the Pro-Extra High Capacity Brush.
Your future self — and your freshly painted walls — will thank you. 💛
xoxo, Traci❤️

I know everything is going to look wonderful and can’t wait for y’all to move in! You Traci are a Rockstar!!🌟
These look like amazing painting tools! When we paint our new house, with high ceilings in the living room I’ll give these a try. :) I do wonder though, since your house is a blank canvas, why you and Cy didn’t use a sprayer. Wouldn’t that have been much quicker and easier?
