My Open Shelf Addiction
I was writing an article for Ebay, and I realized that I have a real-life addiction to open shelves. Like, I knew that I loved them, but I didn’t realize how long I have been making them and using them in my houses until I started looking again at my older posts.
My addiction for open shelves started 6 years ago when I started blogging. I wanted some cafe shelves like the ones in Ballard Designs, but I couldn’t afford them.
So I set out to make my own. It was super, super easy, and inexpensive.
At that point, I was hooked. I became an open shelf addict around the time I became a drop-cloth connoisseur.
I know.
I’ve got issues.
I loved my cafe shelves so much, that I made some more for our laundry room addition in our previous home.
Then when we moved into our current house almost four years ago, one of the first makeovers we tackled was our kitchen. I KNEW I wanted open shelves in my kitchen, and I have never regretted it.
When we completed my craft closet makeover, I built some open shelves in there as well. I used a different style corbel that I loved.
For my dining area, I built a different style open shelf this past year when I did my Arhaus Dining Room Makeover. I LOVE the look of these shelves and may be creating something similar in my office. Not sure.
See?! I have an addiction. Someone help me. :)
