Our Christmas Family Room -Seasons of Home Tour

HAPPY THANKSGIVING WEEK!

We had Thanksgiving dinner with my Dad and Janet on Saturday, and this week, we are having my mother and father-in-law up from Georgia for Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday.  I CAN’T WAIT!!

I love, love, love Thanksgiving dinner!

But today, I am showing you our den all decked out for Christmas.  (Well, mostly our fireplace mantle.). :)

I’m joining my sweet blog friends on the Seasons of Home tour hosted by Ella Claire Inspired.  Be sure to check out their posts at the bottom of this one.  SO MUCH great inspirations for your holiday decorating!

I love decorating my fireplace mantle for each season, but you seriously would NEVER believe what it looked like when we moved into our house 7 years ago!  Cue the orange brick.  haha!  You can see our fireplace makeover HERE.

I continued the same color scheme from our kitchen Christmas decor into our den this year…mostly greens, whites, grays, browns, etc…

I got the beautiful Merry Christmas sign from a wonderful Etsy shop called 2 Daughter’s Heirlooms.   I love the size of the sign and liked the look of it layered in front of my mirror.

The garland is from Joann, and I tucked some eucalyptus stems from Home Goods inside it.  Several of the stockings are also from Home Goods.

The stockings with the dark green pompoms is from the Hearth and Hand line at Target.

I will be sharing more about our Christmas tree in a future post, but I snapped a few shots to share with you today.  My flocked tree is from Wayfair, and I love all of it’s snowy goodness.

I made some of the ornaments on my tree this year and will share those soon too!

The sun was beaming in as I was trying to take pictures last night.  I sat out a tray of hot chocolate yumminess because this is a staple in our house in December.

Our dog, Bentley was eye-ing the candy canes while I was trying to take pictures.  haha!  Sweet boy.

Behind our couch, I added some greenery in one of my large white jars and continued with the color scheme.  I still have some tweaking to do in this area.

Of course, as the sun sets, we love to turn on the twinkle lights.  I added little battery operated twinkle lights to our garland on the fireplace mantle.  It’s just the right amount of light to get us in the Christmas spirit.

Don’t you just love the glow of Christmas lights?  What is it about them that makes me feel like a kid again?

Last night, we watched Christopher Robin and sipped hot chocolate by the glow of our Christmas tree.  Have you seen that movie?  I absolutely LOVE IT!!

I know this time of year can be very hectic, but it also has a way of making us slow down and soak up simple moments like these.

And although I always feel crazy decorating my house early for Christmas because of my blog, I am definitely glad when it’s done, and I can sit back and enjoy the rest of the season.

Have you started decorating for Christmas yet?  When do you usually start decorating?

  1. Bentley is just precious! Loved Christopher Robin too, such a good message. Your Christmas decor is so pretty. I wait until after Thanksgiving because I just can’t get enough Fall. Have a blessed week!

  2. You always have such great ideas for decorating! I wait for emails from you to arrive. Your attitude towards making everything special always inspires me! Quick question that has nothing to do with your post – how can I order some Young Living essential oils from you? Thanks!

  3. Bentley is adorable! And your decorations are beautiful! They always are and your blog has given me so mumuch inspirayion and how tos. Thank you!! I also loved Christopher Robin! Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours 💕

  4. So pretty. I love the way you decorate. Your mantle is beautiful. I have a question. How do you keep your light colored furniture clean? I need to buy new family room furniture and I want to go neutral this time, but afraid of dark jeans dying on the fabric. I see lots of white, cream etc. couches in the Christmas blogs.

  5. Your den looks ahhh-mazing…love your mantel…looks beautiful!!! You inspire me & I need to mimic this look. Where did you find your light couch?? Been wanting a comfy light couch but worry about the inevitable….stains/dirt! Your home in truly warm and welcoming!
