Simple Christmas Kitchen Decor

Hello, friends!

I’m sharing my first Christmas post of the holiday season today, along with many of my dear blog friends, in the Seasons of Home Tour hosted by Ella Claire Inspired!

We are starting off this series by sharing our Christmas kitchens with you.

I’ll be honest, this was the earliest I have ever decorated for Christmas in my home.  If I didn’t have a blog, I would probably put my decorate for Christmas the weekend before or after Thanksgiving.  However, the past few years, I have been decorating at the beginning of November to be able to share some inspiration on my blog.

I listened to Christmas music while I was decorating to try and get myself in the Christmas spirit. haha!  The kids were like, “MOM?  Are you listening to Christmas music?”  Yep. Guilty.

But it definitely helped me get my Christmas mojo going, and I started to deck the halls.  :)

I am a traditionalist when it comes to decorating for the holidays.  I usually love using the bright traditional colors, like green and red for Christmas.  To me, it’s just not Christmas without red.

So I surprised myself this year when I started decorating my kitchen with mostly natural colors like white, gray, greens, and browns.  And I was even more surprised at how much I liked it!

I have a lot less red in my kitchen decor this year, but I did sneak little touches of it here and there, especially in this side table…

I will say that decorating this early does have one advantage….I’m able to sit back and relax more in December because all of the decorating work was done in November.

I don’t have a large kitchen, but it feels so much bigger than when we first bought our house seven years ago.  If you want your mind blown, CLICK HERE to see what our kitchen looked like when we first bought our house.  It doesn’t even look like the same kitchen!

We used to have a window above the sink, but when we built the front porch on the house, we lost that window.  We covered the window with wood planks and hung up this architectural piece on top of it.  I really love the contrasting metal pieces against the white wood planks.

I created a swag with some faux greenery and a white ribbon to add to the window.

I found those cute little wooden trees on a marble base at Lowe’s just this week, and I had to get them!  I absolutely love ’em!

My favorite part of the kitchen is the little black sign above the sink that says, “WISE MEN STILL SEEK HIM.”  Seeing that sign up there every day while cooking meals or doing dishes helps to remind me of why we celebrate Christmas….to celebrate HIM.  As we daily seek HIM, He fills our heart with indescribable PEACE and unspeakable JOY.

As we head into this holiday season, I pray that we take time to slow things down and not get caught up in all the hustle and bustle, but find time to breathe in and breathe out the Goodness of God.

Now it’s time to go visit my other blog friends!  I can’t wait to check out their beautifully decorated kitchens.  Everyone has such different tastes and decor ideas…I love it!

  1. Traci, I LOVE what you did with your kitchen!!!! It’s beautiful, and it created such a soft peaceful feel! Great job!! 👏🏻😃

  2. Beautiful – where did you purchase the mirror above your small hutch (Black with window pane mirror)
    Thanks.

  3. Looks lovely. It’s been awhile since I’ve stopped by your blog. Have you thought about getting rid of the frame that used to be the window over the sink? It would look beautiful with just the arched piece. Still one of my fav blogs. :)

  4. Traci, I love the way you decorated this year. The touches of red stand out so nicely. We are completely decorated for Christmas and enjoy the extra time looking at the lights and listening to Christmas music. It’s our very favorite holiday.

  5. Traci, I loved visiting Wanda any time, but especially at Christmas time as her house was so warm, inviting and festive. I know I would enjoy visiting yours too. Love all you do.

  6. Love your wreaths; where can they be purchased? I live in Sarasota,Florida and cannot use real greens…too warm here.

  7. Just found your blog and love it. Especially the uplifting of our Lord Jesus and His Peace that we can have! I would love to have a sign with the same inscription “Wise Men Still Seek Him”.
