Thrift Store Finds (Makeovers and Inspiration!)

Hey friends!

Today on my Insta-stories, I am sharing some fun makeover ideas that you can find at second hand stores like Goodwill, Habitat Restore, or other thrift shops.

I love finding a good deal on old, unique items and then breathing new life in them!

I’ve rounded up some of my favorite makeovers from blog world and some I’ve done in my own home.  Looking at all of my past projects has made me miss doing furniture makeovers.  I’m hoping I can do find new DIY projects for our guest house soon.

Okay….I hope you enjoy all of these thrift store makeovers!

Salvaged Inspirations

Kris from Driven by Decor took this thrift store headboard and turned it into a gorgeous gray bed!

Isn’t it beautiful?!!!

Or if you like a little more color in your life, you could paint your bed frame one of these beautiful shades!

(The teal bed in the first pictures is from 11 Magnolia Lane.  I couldn’t find sources for the others.)

*DOORS*

I’ve always loved this door in Layla’s previous home…

The Lettered Cottage

Here is an antique door that we refinished for our master bedroom…

We actually got this door for free, and we purchased a new frosted, safety glass to go inside it.

And I found two solid wood, five panel doors for Sania’s room, and one was even PINK on one side!  What?!  I didn’t do anything to the doors in her room except clean them.  I loved all the character and cracks that were already in them.  I also loved the old brass door knobs.

Well, that was fun!  I don’t know about you, but I am feeling totally inspired to go find a treasure at a thrift store and paint it!

Have you ever bought something from a thrift store and given it a little makeover?  Tell me about it!

Have a blessed day, friends!

  1. Ha! As soon as I saw the picture, I knew she was Vampirina! Her room is really cute. I just love that pink door! I’ve got a complete set of real wood bedroom room furniture (queen) that I’m going to paint and after seeing how the lamps turned out in this post, I will be painting them too. Thanks for sharing the makeovers. I sometimes forget to shop my own house before I start spending (unnecessary) money! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
