Stepping into Fear

Hey friends!

Well, I haven’t posted since I announced that our house was for sale last week.  :(

Mainly because I was in Nashville with the kids most of this past week, AND because when I got home, I had to get busy keeping the house clean and showing it to prospective buyers.

Selling a house is no joke.

It’s actually kind of scary.

It made me think of something my son, Jonathan, said recently.  I was talking to him about all of the cool stuff happening for him in Nashville right now.  Y’all, he has been in songwriting rooms with some of the biggest songwriters in Nashville.  Guys and gals who have had MANY number one hits and written songs for people like Thomas Rhett, Keith Urban, Dan and Shay, Carrie Underwood, Justin Bieber, and more.  IT’S CRAZY!!

Remember now… Jonathan is only 19!  And I am amazed as his confidence and poise when he is around these big names.  I remember asking him, “Jonathan!  How are you not freaking out when you walk in those rooms?!! I would be dying!”

To which he answered, “Well Mom.  I try not to think about it too much.  They are people just like me.  But mainly, I KNOW that God’s plan for me is to share the gift of music that He has given me with others.  So when I walk in those rooms, I know that I am just stepping into His plan for me.  That gives me peace.”

WOW.

Just stepping into God’s plan.

And God’s plan is always good for us.  Doesn’t mean it will be easy or without trial and heartache, but it is always good.

Selling our house right now can bring us fear and anxiety, but we know that we are doing what we feel God is calling us to do.  So if we know that it is HIS plan, then we can step into His plan with peace in our hearts. One step at a time.

The fear of the unknown might still be there, but HIS PEACE IS GREATER.  And although we don’t know exactly what our future is going to look like, HE DOES, and we can rest in that.

Friends, life is hard and full of hard decisions.  Sometimes those decisions can be full of fear.  But I am praying today that God will fill your heart with His Peace as you step into HIS plan for your life.

Jeremiah 29:11 is a very well known and popular verse, but it is actually the verses that follow that I love the most….

“In those days, when you pray, I will listen.  If you look for me, wholeheartedly, you will find me.”

May we always pray and seek Jesus wholeheartedly!  It is there that we will find Him and His Peace.

Have a blessed Sunday, friends!

xoxo

  1. Amen! One of my life verses is Isaiah 26:3-4…
His perfect peace when my mind is stayed on Him.
    Exciting times for you all!

  2. Absolutely beautiful Traci! At times it is so hard for us to Let Go and Let God as we follow His plan for our lives. No, it’s not always going to be easy, and we are going to experience some real heartbreak along the way, but we need to do our best to trust Him. God bless!

  3. Wow! I love hearing what God is doing in Jonathan’s life and his amazing response to it! Eleven years ago we put our house for sale. We had five kids, too, and all we knew was we were moving to CO on 8/1. We didn’t have a home to move into until 12 days before our moving date. But God’s timing was not late and the house was in the perfect location for the start of our next chapter. God is faithful. He can be trusted. You will see His goodness and experience His grace. Just keep stepping into His plan 😀❤️
On a different note, we’re following your claw foot tub tutorial this weekend. Thank you for a great post!

  4. Thanks for sharing all this Traci. How exciting for Jonathan and your family. I wish I could buy your home. This post confirmed so much going on in my life. Blessings on your family.

  5. Thank you for this encouragement today. I didn’t get to go to church this morning because when I went to my car one tire was nearly flat. Hubby was already at church to run the sound system and I had some time of solitude and study alone. We are planning to move next year and the timing will be difficult. I have found myself anxious and frustrated with the slowness of the whole situation. I want to know how and when and where–right now. Thank you for reminding me that I am stepping into His plan and that I can let go of needing to know everything. I hope you continue to have peace and God’s guidance as you’re going through this move.

  6. So excited to see what God has planned for all of you ❣️Having more FAITH than FEAR is so tough …. we need to build each other up and remind each other of God’s faithfulness in the past 🙏🏽❣️ THANK YOU for always doing just that 😍❣️

  7. Jonathan is an amazing young man and I hope that you and Cy realize that all of your parenting efforts and the grace of God are with him. He’s stepping into fear constantly but his faith is stronger! Going through the hard times can almost do us in at times, however, that’s when God shows up and reveals His perfect plan for us. It’s always better than anything we could imagine! I can understand the position you’re in but everything’s gonna be alright! 😊 Your home and the surrounding property would be anyone’s piece of Heaven on earth. I always admire your strength and faith so I will continue to pray for God’s guidance and direction for you. Enjoy every moment!
