This Video is More for Me than You

Happy Thursday!

Today I wanted to share a video that my son, Luke, and I put together to parts of a song that Jonathan wrote called, Miss Kentucky.

I’ll be honest…this video is more for me than you.  (But I hope you enjoy it.)

I started my blog 10 years ago to document all the things that I hold dearly Beneath My Heart….

my faith, my family, and my home.

It’s been an online journal documenting my life, and I treasure every post.  I love the posts that I have written about renovating the homes that we have lived in, and about the amazing brands that I have worked with, but HANDS DOWN, my favorite posts are about my faith and family!

Someday when I am gone, I pray that my kids, grandkids, and beyond will enjoy looking back at my blog and see/learn about who I was, and what mattered most to me.

This video is an example of what matters most to me….FAMILY.

Leaving Kentucky was one of the hardest things I have ever done.  I was born and bred in Kentucky.  It’s all I ever known.  My entire extended family on both sides lived within an hour radius of me my whole life.  I have been blessed with THE BEST family on the planet!!!!  Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, in-laws…..each and every one a BLESSING!  Childhood memories that are worth more than gold.

I am so, so, so grateful.

So this video is to document on my blog a big moment in my life.  A moment of stepping out into FAITH into a new chapter of life that God has lead us to.

Thank you for letting me share my heart and my life with you.

xoxo

  1. OMG! I’m in tears. I left Lexington in 1985 with a 7 and 3 year old! I still cry at My Old Kentucky Home, love KY Wildcat basketball and had to laugh when I saw the Ale81!!!!! Whoop Whoop. Still have some family and friends there but don’t get back often enough. Always bleed BLUE!

  4. Traci! Loved the video & especially the song. We moved to South Georgia 8 years ago & I still miss “home!” Your video hit home. It’s hard to leave family friends & everything familiar but makes me appreciate KY that much more when I go visit!!

  5. Loved the song and the video. Y’all are very brave to pick up your roots to move to Tennessee. I know I couldn’t do it (at least right now). I only have one child and he is still in high school. I will have to see what happens once he has some of his future mapped out. My husband is a born and bred Austin-ite and he refuses to move! Good luck and best wishes on your future endeavors. I cannot wait to read how life happens for y’all.

  6. That was so touching. Your family is so special and the closeness y’all share and live is such a blessing. I look forward to you sharing your Tennessee adventures.

  7. Oh that was so touching. I don’t even know you all and it made me sad. I can’t imagine how hard it must be to leave all your family and for them all to say good-bye. You all are brave and I know God will bless you all NO matter where you are. I love the song and so sweet of both your son’s to put this video/song together for you to have. PS I don’t always comment but when I have for awhile now, I never see it come up with the other comments. Do you know why?

  8. What a sweet video…and that song is perfect! Blessings to you and yours as you settle in in Nashville/ Brentwood! ( My daughter and her family live in Brentwood and my SIL is in the music industry as well . Hopefully your paths will cross at some point—I think y’all would hit it off!). Looking forward to following your videos!
