Big Day for Jonathan!
Hey friends!
Today is an exciting day because Jonathan has officially been announced as a part of the Creative Nation Music team!
This is a “publishing and artist development deal,” not a “record or label deal.” The music business can kind of be confusing sometimes, but there are many different facets to this business. You don’t have to sign a publishing deal, but it can be a very important step in an artist’s career. (Especially when you are surrounded by incredible people like the folks at CN!)
We KNOW that the Lord led Jonathan to sign at Creative Nation. (It’s a long story, but Jonathan almost signed somewhere else, and we believe “divine intervention” led him to Creative Nation.). Beth and Luke Laird, and the entire CN team are AMAZING!!! Jonathan says “it feels like home,” to be a part of this team!

Jonathan signed with CN a couple of weeks ago, but it was officially announced today (my daddy’s birthday!!)
Last week, we went to CN to take some photos, and they let me, Cy, and Luke jump in for a photo!
This is an EXCITING beginning to BIG things in Jonathan’s music career! We can’t wait for things to take off! Jonathan has an incredible work ethic and puts his heart and soul in his music! So proud of him!
When I started this blog 10 years ago, I called it “Beneath My Heart” because I wanted to share all of the things in my life that I hold most dearly…my faith, my family, and my home. It’s based on these scriptures…
“But Mary quietly treasured these things in her heart and often thought about them.” Luke 2:19
“So Jesus went back with them to Nazareth, where he was obedient to them. His mother treasured all these things in her heart.” Luke 2:51
Every moment in life… the big ones and the little ones, the mundane every day ones and the once in a lifetime ones. The smiles, the laughs, the tears, the pain….I treasure every single one of them in my heart.

Praise, God! Great start to what will most likely be a stellar career.
SO happy and excited for all of you! It’s been such fun to follow Jonathan’s journey over these past ten years. . . from a little boy whose grandmother Wanda bought his hearing aids to now. . . well, just look at him! Love you, proud mama!

Keep thinking of your sweet mama saving her money for Jonathan’s hearing aids…what a tremendous gift she gave her grandson to now stand in such an amazing place! I hope one day Jonathan writes a song about his grandma and his hearing aids – such a sweet and precious testimony.
