Makeover Monday ~ Gorgeous Laundry Room Makeover!

Hello friends!

Welcome to another Makeover Monday!  This week, I am sharing another project that my husband’s business, Hutcherson Home Remodel, completed this past fall.

Cy had worked with this client in 2021 on another project when he first started his business.  She asked him to come back and give her laundry room a refresh.  Here is a picture of the space before Cy started…

It was a large laundry room, but it had very little cabinetry.  The homeowner wanted to add some lower cabinetry and a new countertop across the wall space where the ironing board was located.

She also wanted to get a new large apron sink and faucet.

The washer and dryer would stay where it was, but she wanted to get all new tile on the floor.

Cy, with the help of our boys, Adam and Eli, tore everything out and began installing the new floor tile…

I LOVE the black and white tile the homeowner chose for this space!  (All products sources are listed at the bottom of this post.)

I don’t really have any more “during” photos, so let’s jump right on to the gorgeous AFTERS!…

Isn’t she just adorable?!  I love this space, and I would LOVE doing laundry in here, wouldn’t you?

I wanted to show you the hallway as you enter the laundry room, because the homeowner had this cute little “laundry” sign hanging at the entrance.

Here is the view of the entrance from the other side of the room…

The light in this space makes such a statement!  The homeowner found it on Etsy.

And I love how well the black leathered countertop goes with the cabinets painted Sherwin Williams’ Accessible Beige.

Look at all the storage the homeowners have now!  She said she will actually use this new countertop  space as the “dessert bar area” when she has all of her family over for the holidays.  It certainly is pretty enough to do that!

The new apron sink looks beautiful and because it is larger, it is much more practical for this space.  The homeowner has two small dogs, and now she is able to give them baths in the laundry room sink!

The black hardware looks beautiful against the beige cabinets.

On the other side of the room are two windows that let in tons of gorgeous natural light and matching beds for her dogs.

We are thrilled with how this makeover turned out!  The laundry room is so fresh and current now, and a space I know the homeowners are going to enjoy for years to come!

    1. I thought the same thing. I have a rod in my laundry and could not do without it. I hang so many clothes!!! She would love it I’ll bet. lol

    2. Homeowner here. 😊

I’m 5’2” tall and couldn’t possibly reach cabinets, a rod or shelves over the washer/dryer. Not only because of the height, but also because of the depth of the appliances themselves. The cost of the additional cabinets coupled with the fact that I don’t need the storage or wouldn’t be able to reach them if I did, is why I chose not to have them on that wall. I have considered a hanging rod (which I’d also never be able to reach:), but am choosing to live with the space and get to know it before I make a final decision.

  3. Cy always does beautiful work! It’s great all your boys are learning the trade….. a lot of young men these days don’t even know how to use a drill and hang a shelf.

  4. I wish you lived by me. We would hire you. Great job. So great your boys are learning how to do all the jobs too. Even if they don’t go into it for a living it’s something they will use for life. A beautiful family you have. I’m so glad Cy gets to do what he loves for a living. I bet it’s harder to get your projects done though. He probably needs a break after work.

  5. I just love all of the work you guys do! It is very evident that Cy cares about his work and that can be hard to find these days. Let me know if you’re ever looking to come to IL. I’m sure I have a project or 3 for you!
