Eli Sings at Church!

Happy Hump Day!

I know that I have shared a lot of my oldest son, Jonathan’s singing journey over the years, but I actually have another singer in the family. :)

Eli, my youngest, is a carbon copy of Jonathan.  Cy and I feel like we are raising Jonathan all over again through Eli.  haha!  He is 15 years old, and has been musical since birth, just like Jonathan.  He loves to sing all the time and taught himself to play the guitar.  He saved up money to buy some music editing software and is already writing some of his own songs on his computer.

We have been attending a new church since last fall, and this week, Eli was the “special music.”  It’s really the first time he has sung by himself in front of a large group of people, and he was nervous but did a great job.

He sang “Nothing but the Blood,” I wanted to share it with you here on my blog.

I filmed this on my phone and started crying as soon as he started singing.  I was having trouble seeing, so that’s why it’s a little shaky at first.  haha!

I was super proud of Eli, but that wasn’t why I was crying.  I was crying because he was singing about the precious blood of Jesus..  My heart was overwhelmed by the goodness of God and the gift of salvation that He freely gives us through His son, Jesus Christ.

What can wash away my sin?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Oh! precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow;
No other fount I know,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Y’all, we live in a crazy world right now, like Eli said in the video.  And truthfully, it’s probably gonna get crazier.  But the peace that is found in Jesus Christ is what sustains us.  He is real. His love is real. Heaven is real.

“On Christ the Solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking ground.”

Thank you for letting me share Eli’s song with you.  It was a very special day, and my heart was full.  I am also very thankful for our church.  It’s a small church full of broken people just trying to do their best to love God and love others.  I am so very grateful.

I pray you have a blessed day, friends!

Please always know that you can reach out to me at traci@beneathmyheart.net if you ever need me to pray for you.  It would be my honor.
