2023 Recap!

Happy New Year’s, Friends!

Can you believe we are in a new year?! Time really doesn’t slow down…it seems to be speeding up in my life lately. 😂

Before I start a new year of posts, I wanted to look back at all the memories we made in 2023. As I looked over the pictures and videos in my phone, I realized you could basically sum up 2023 for me in three words….chickens, garden, and concerts! 🐓👩🏻‍🌾🪴🎶😂

And I wouldn’t want it any other way!!!

I spent the majority of the first half of the year building my garden and growing things. And I loved it more than I could have ever imagined. My garden became something that brought me so much joy. ❤️ And I truly felt close to the Lord when I was in my garden. Watching seeds grow into beautiful greenery and produce food for our family to eat was amazing!

Sania has been a HUGE help with our chickens this past year. She loves checking on them every day and looks forward to collecting eggs for us. We lost most of our chickens to predators in the spring, but we bought and added 16 more chicks to our flock, and it has been fun watching them grow. I’m looking forward to getting a lot of delicious eggs very soon! (And we are talking about getting a livestock guardian dog this coming year to protect our chickens.)

One of my favorite projects on our new property, Still Waters, was painting our chicken coop! It was so much fun “pretty-ing” it up for our girls.

I also loved working with one of my local readers to re-do a buffet for her! I love the way it turned out and want to paint something this color in my home soon! You can check out the step-by-step guide HERE.

In 2023, Jonathan did a lot of touring, and boy did we have fun! He kicked off his touring season by opening for Little Big Town at the Atlanta Fox Theater! That show was amazing, and we had so many family and friends there to enjoy the show with us.

Cy and I traveled to the upper north west to see Jonathan open for Dan + Shay, and I got to be “mom-ager” for a weekend when Jonathan opened three shows for Carly Pearce!

It was so much fun connecting with friends and family that we hadn’t seen in years, especially at Jonathan’s final hometown stop on the tour!

Luke does Jonathan’s photography and videography, which makes it even MORE fun! I’m so glad that Jonathan and Luke can do their jobs together. What a blessing!

You can check out Jonathan’s website HERE. It has his available merchandise to purchase, and it will have his tour schedule for 2024 listed in the near future.

Cy’s job at Hutcherson Home Remodel has gone great this past year too! Adam works full time with him, and Eli splits his time between homeschool and working for Cy. I LOVE that my boys get to work and learn from their Dad! I’ve shared a few of Cy’s projects here on the blog, and I hope to share more in the coming year.

Well, that is a quick overview of 2023! On instagram, I made a reel with a compilation of highlights/videos from the past year, and used Jonathan’s song, “Dust” as background music. You can click on the video below to watch it.

As always, friends, THANK YOU for being here! I look forward to walking into 2024 with you. It’s gonna be good year because no matter what comes our way, Jesus is with us. ❤️

I pray God’s presence and blessings upon you and your loved ones in 2024!

xoxo, Traci
