Four Gables has Walls! (Video Tour)
I finally have an exciting update for you about our new build, Four Gables! The drywall has been hung, and we now have WALLS!!! I have pictures and several videos to share with you today. 🥰
As I mentioned in my last newsletter, Cy had an accident earlier this summer and fractured two of his vertebraes. He wasn’t able to work for about two months, and we decided to start hiring out some of the work on Four Gables. The blessing that has come his accident is that the weight of building the house himself has been lifted. It has been so good to hire out the work and see progress continue to be made.
The drywall was hung in a few days when we were visiting family in Georgia. When we got home, seeing the walls in our house for the first time took my breath away! I didn’t know I would get so emotional about it, but I had to stop filming because I started crying. Cy’s eyes filled up with tears too, and we just stood in the den and hugged each other. (See video below.)
We bought our property 3 1/2 years ago in 2022. We started building almost a 1 1/2 ago, and honestly, at times it felt like we would never get it finished. So to see the walls up was like a bright light at the end of the tunnel. It made it feel so real and exciting!

How fun is that?! Now I can finally see this house starting to become a home. ❤️ I think my favorite part will be our kitchen! I’ve been planning it out and hope to share my inspiration with you soon.

So excited for you all. I loved watching the video. I have wondered how you’ve been and Cy and his healing, as I don’t have instagram to keep updated unless you email post. Your house(home) is going to be beautiful as I know you will have it decorated so wonderful. I know its been a long road for you all and I’m so glad you were able to afford to hire out the drywall while you and Cy and family could be away and enjoy family. You all deserve the break and pressure off Cy. I follow Cyndi daily and it always nice to hear from you when you post. I’m dying to know how your grandson is doing. Enjoy the Fall. Its really warm in NW Oregon too. We are having a warm, late Summer, early Fall. I love Fall.

So excited for you! I love looking at floor plans and watching the building process. I’m also blessed to be married to a man who, like Cy, can build anything I put on paper. I can see your vision and with your design and decorating talent, Four Gables will be a beautiful home!
