Beneath My Heart

Word Wall Art for my Sister’s Laundry Room Re-do

DIY projects

19 Jun

Okay, don’t freak out, but I finally finished my sister’s laundry room makeover!

If you follow my blog regularly, you know we started this project, ummm…….well……like almost 4 months ago.

It was back in February when I showed you my sister’s laundry room.  Click on the picture if you missed that post or want to be reminded of how badly her laundry room needed a makeover.

Well, it’s taken a while, but we have made a ton of changes in this small space, and I think it looks amazing!!!

Here’s some good news…

I will reveal my sister’s

complete laundry room makeover

on Wednesday!

Promise!

Today, I want to show you the wall art I made for her laundry room.

She showed me a picture she had pinned on Pinterest that she really liked.

Here it is…

Word Wall Art

She asked me if I could make her something like it.

There is a big empty wall in Cyndi’s laundry room that needed to be filled.  I kept looking and looking at Goodwill’s for the perfect sized frame, and I finally found it.

It was $12, and it was a long flower print.  I new it would be perfect as soon as I saw it!  Of course, I needed it to be hung vertically instead of horizontally.

I took the print out of the black frame and spray painted it with Rustoleum Oil Rubbed Bronze primer and paint.

It gave it kind of a shiny dark brown look.

Then I used my Silhouette machine to create the phrases in different fonts for the wall art.  I bought some brown vinyl at Hobby Lobby for 50% off, so it was only 5 bucks.

And this is what I came up with!…

For the background behind the words, I used a white tablecloth of Cyndi’s.  Smile

I love the look of the fabric behind the words.

It fills the empty wall space perfectly!

I cannot wait to show you the rest of the laundry room!

Here’s a sneak peek!

Be sure to stop back by tomorrow for the big reveal! Smile
