I’m Still in Love with…

Well, we just passed the “holiday of love,” so you are probably thinking this post is going to be about my sweet hubster, Cy.   Well, although I am still in love with my guy, that is not what I am writing about today.

Today, I am writing about something I haven’t written about in a looooooong time on my blog, but I am still in love with them!

My essential oils!

Let me tell you why I haven’t written about my essential oils in a long time.

1.  I think everyone in blogland was tired of hearing about them.

Truthfully, I was too.  Last year, it seemed like everybody and their mothers were talking about essential oils on their blogs and social media outlets.  Many of those people were guilty of jumping on the essential oil “money train.”  They were sharing about essential oils purely to make money.

However, there were many bloggers, like myself, that had been using essential oils for many years and who truly loved them.  I was using essential oils before I was making money sharing them.  But because of the crazy overload of bloggers sharing about essential oils last year, I was afraid that my readers would think I was only talking about them because I was trying to make money.

So I got quiet.  I figured that those who didn’t truly love essential oils would eventually drop off, (and they did,) and those of us who truly love our essential oils would stay the course.  :)

2.  My life got crazy in 2015.

Another reason I backed off from sharing about my oils is because my life got crazy busy in 2015!  It goes down on record as the craziest year of our family’s life.  Not only because of our adoption, but because of something very special happening in Jonathan’s life!  (which you will find out about in a few weeks!  EEK!)

Whenever I shared about essential oils on my blog, readers would sign up with me.  It was awesome, but last year, I did not have the time or resources I needed to help others on their “oily journey.”  So, I stayed quiet.

3.  The “ef-dee-a” cracked down on essential oil companies and made it hard to share them on our blogs.

I’m not going to get into details about this one, but basically, because essential oils are so amazing and truly benefit your health in a million ways, the ef-dee-a didn’t like it.  So they basically enforced a ton of hard rules to make it difficult for us to share about them.  So again, I stayed quiet.

4. People doubted whether essential oils really worked.

When everyone and their mothers were sharing about essential oils, some people were making claims about the oils that seemed to be good to be true.  Some were.  But some weren’t.  If you are not familiar with the power of essential oils, the claims that people online were/are making about how they have improved their health seems down right impossible.  It is only right for readers to become skeptics and doubt whether they really work.  I get it.  So I got quiet.

But essential oils are not going away.  Actually, they are becoming more and more popular, and they are making impacts on people’s health all over the world.  Because they work.  You know that essential oils are the real deal when hospitals and doctors are beginning to use them in their treatments.  I’ve seen so many reports on the Today Show and other news outlets about how people are using essential oils for their health and getting great results.  I can promise you, you will only be hearing more about them in the future.  I look forward to the day when my grandchildren will go to their regular pediatrician, and he/she prescribes essential oils instead of an antibiotic to help my grand babies feel better.  :)

So why am I telling you all of this?

Just to let you know that I am still in love with my oils.

I still use them every single day, and they continue to amaze me.

I *might* get brave and share a post about my oils once or twice a month.  I’m not going to share them a ton because I don’t want to turn anyone off, but they are something I am still passionate about and would love to share with my readers.

And since I have embraced that I am a “lifestyle” blogger, (thanks to your encouragement,) I feel like I can share many parts of my life here on my blog.   So when I get a hankerin’, I will share about my oils because they are a big part of my life.  mkay?

I’m not going to offer a bunch of “specials promos” (like free gift cards) to get you to sign up with me, but I will send you a book and pamphlet that explains how to use the oils so you will not be left in the dark.  I will also add you to a facebook group that will help you learn about the oils, and you will be able to ask questions when you have them.

I just want to authentically share with you ways that I use essential oils and how they can benefit your health in a natural way.

If you want to give essential oils a try, then you are more than welcome to sign up with me, but I will never pressure you.

And even though I will not be offering any “special promos” myself, I will let you know whenever Young Living is offering one.  Like this month…

  1. Hey – I love your blog AND I love essential oils! I’ve been a certified aromatherapist/essential oil devotee for over 20 years. They are such a part of my daily life – I don’t know what I would do without them. I totally understand how *sensitive* it can be to share about oils on a blog, but just wanted you to know I always love to read about others’ experiences, so don’t be afraid to talk about them. :-)

  2. I don’t mind you blogging about your oils. I want to hear how they help and which ones do what. I’ve started using them in YL’s diffuser and love how they make my house smell. I learned from a friend that Peppermint oil was good for headaches. She mixed some with a carrier oil for me and I applied a little to my temples and behind my ears and in less than a half hour, my headache was gone. So, I’m happy that I can learn a little here and there from reading about oils on your blog.

  3. I like hearing about them – i use a couple, but would like to increase my knowledge about them. I’m all about “keeping things simple” and not introducing new drugs into my body if I have choices to do otherwise.

  4. I would love for you to do a few blog posts on essenitial oils and how you are using them. If not for your original post on YL, I probably would not have looked into them – and now I use them daily! So thank you Traci!

  5. I just started using oils about a year ago, yes I jumped on the bandwagon with everyone else. But I love them too. I haven’t taken the time to really use them all properly but I keep accumulating more and would love advice on things that work well for you! Can’t wait for these posts!! Blessings!

  8. Hey Trace! You are so right about the oils! I love them too. You are right on the money with your blog. Truth of the matter is these oils have been around for thousands of years and will be here long after we are gone so there must be something to them! I believe everything we need to heal ourselves can be found in the ground or in nature. It’s a fact! Just wanted to share with you a little recipe I tried the other day. Add 2 drops of peppermint oil to any package of brownies and they taste just like the thin mint girl scout cookies! So yummy! Can you share any recipes you might have using the oils? Have a blessed day!!!
