Spray Painted Bench Swing

Y’all, we have been spending as much time as possible on our new property, especially by the pond!   The boys have been fishing like crazy!!

It is SO peaceful there, and I love spending time by the pond as well, even if I’m not fishing.  I love sitting and listening to the sounds of nature and just watching my kids have so much fun.

So I have been looking for areas around the pond where I could add some extra “sitting spots” to enjoy the views and relax.  Which means I have been scouring thrift shops and Facebook marketplace for things to sit on!  haha!

I found this bench swing on fb marketplace, and I thought it would be perfect  to put by the pond!

The bench swing was in great shape and worked perfectly, but it desperately needed a new coat of paint.   It had a couple different coats of paint on it already, but I decided that I could easily spray paint it all black and make it look as good as new!

So I grab my favorite can of spray paint…Krylon Fusion All-in-One with 5X stronger adhesion* in the color matte black and went to town! Ha!

*compared to Krylon General Purpose paints

Like I said, the swing was in pretty good shape, so all I had to do was wipe it off with a wet cloth to remove any dust or debris before I started painting.

The coverage of this paint is amazing!  I only needed about two coats.

It is fast drying and dry to the touch in 20 minutes!

What I love about spray paint (vs. brush on paint,) is how easily it gets into all the nooks and crannies of an item like this bench.  It would have taken me FOREVER to brush in between all the slats on that bench and around the sides and bottoms.

But the spray paint took me no time at all, and I was able to reach all the difficult areas with ease.  It was also very easy to spray paint the chains on the bench.

And now look at her!

Isn’t she cute?!  I love my new spray painted bench swing!

And she is SO perfect for our pond!  We are going to enjoy so many wonderful hours swinging on this bench this summer.  And I can’t wait!

Can’t y’all just hear the crickets chirping and the frogs croaking?  The evening sounds at the pond are my favorite!!

I had Sania test it out for me once it was dry, (which was literally minutes!,) and she loved it!  Now I am on the hunt for something else I can paint to make another “sitting spot” around our pond.  :)

Do you have any outdoor spray painting projects coming up this spring at your home?  I’d love to hear about them!

So pretty! Your Krylon posts prompted me to use this same spray paint on my planters this year. Looking forward to your next project.

It looks fabulous! And the planter beside it looks great. Is there a house up on the hill from your pond, in one of the pictures?

What a difference. You are so talented, my brain isn’t able to envision items transformed. I’m a visual learner and need to see the finished product – I can’t conceive of it but I can definitely copy it! LOL

I have one of those IKEA 3 tier rolling carts that needs a refresh. I will check out the Krylon colors because you are so right – spray paint is the way to go.
Your property is beautiful. I would want a spot to sit and enjoy it too!
